Alliance for Safe Kids (ASK) hosted the Responsible Vendor Training, which open to all businesses that sell alcohol in Yorktown.

The training, which took place last week, is conducted in collaboration with the Yorktown Police Department, Yorktown Justice Court, and Hudson Valley Hospital to provide awareness and education to servers and sellers of alcohol at businesses in the community.

“The program goal is to create and maintain a safe environment on the premises of establishments, promote responsible alcohol sales, prevent sales to underage persons and prevent DWI,” said Lisa Tomeny, Executive director of Alliance for Safe Kids.

Nine establishments participated in the volunteary November training. Tomeny said Alliance for Safe Kids commends these businesses for taking part in the community’s efforts to prevent underage drinking. Those businesses are DeCicco’s Market, Gomer Street Deli, Mobil gas station, Suburban Wines & Spirits, Shell gas station, and Yorktown Beer & Soda.
