Save A Life: It’s Not Just About the Food

Newport Academy is a proud sponsor of Save A Life workshop, “Its Not Just About the Food,” which will provide high school students the chance to learn and understand signs and symptoms of eating disorders. Lisa Bargellini, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, will be exploring with teens the reasons why people develop self-destructive ways of coping through the foundation of Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and how to replace these ineffective skills with healthy, effective ways of coping. It can be very challenging approaching a loved one who seems to be suffering with disorder eating. The workshop will provide attendees with ways to show support and concern.
