Save A Life: Stress & Anxiety Workshop

Adolescence is a time of great change, growth and development, and new discoveries. Unfortunately, all too often, this time period is also fraught with struggle.  Teens are facing greater demands than ever before. Between increased academic demands, social media and technology, and a fast-paced high-pressure world, teens are often left feeling overwhelmed, powerless, hopeless, and in despair.

At Save A Life, Dr. Kristy Vanacore will conduct a Stress & Anxiety Workshop to help empower teens cope more effectively with the ongoing challenges of their day-to-day lives. It will bring together the benefits of mindfulness and self-compassion and teach teens how to utilize both to tap in to their innate powers and gifts in order to thrive even in the face of adversity. Mindfulness teaches us to be present with difficult emotions, and self-compassion helps us to respond to these emotions with greater kindness and self-care.

Through a variety of interactive activities, teen will learn specific tools to help them navigate emotional ups and downs with greater ease. The end result will be teens who are prepared for life’s challenges and ready to soar!

As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Kristy Vanacore, “Coach Kristy” has spent the past 15 years creating and evolving a unique practice that helps children, teens, young adults, parents, and families become the best versions of themselves possible. Whereas most psychologists focus on diagnosis and pathology, Vanacore focuses on health and wellness. At her center, children are seen as whole human beings with a wide range of gifts. The root of any issues is uncovered and individuals are helped to resolve them safely and naturally. Further, the mission of this center is to arm individuals with skills to prepare them to navigate all of life’s challenges. Through options such as individual coaching and therapy, empowerment and personal development workshops, evaluations, and advocacy, children, teens, and young adults are inoculated with the proper dose of inner resilience necessary to thrive. Vanacore believes that every individual possess innate powers and gifts that her coaching helps them to tap into and use for their own good, and for the greater good of the world.

In addition to working individually with clients, Vanacore has developed a program of workshops and groups that all foster resiliency and life skills in children, teens, and parents. Recently, she developed an innovative empowering life skills curriculum program that reflects a culmination of almost 20 years of her expertise in child and adolescent development. These programs also reflect what Vanacore believes to be the essential needs of children and families in modern times. Participants are taught essential life skills such as developing self-esteem, self-confidence, frustration tolerance, emotional regulation, healthy peer relationships, gratitude, managing fears and anxiety, managing change and transition, and so much more!!
