ALLIANCE FOR SAFE KIDS’ TO HOST 7th ANNUAL SAVE A LIFE FEATURING LIFE SAVING WORKSHOPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ADULTS
The Alliance for Safe Kids, Inc. (ASK) is hosting the Seventh Annual Save a Life Forum on Sunday, April, 2 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lakeland High School located at 1349 E. Main St. Shrub Oak, NY 10588.
Save A Life is a program designed to inform and empower high school students and adults to be community allies and first responders to support teens and families in crisis. As one of ASK’s leading programs, Save A Life has directly touched the lives of over 2,500 community members since 2010. Last year, nearly 500 members of the community attended.
Save A Life will feature Keynote Speaker Jacy Good, a nationally-recognized public speaker and advocate for cellphone-free roads. Since Jacy’s miraculous recovery from a 2008 crash caused by a distracted driver, that claimed the lives of both her parents and left her partially paralyzed, she has worked tirelessly to educate the country about the dangers of cell phone use behind the wheel. Jacy will help ASK to enforce our “STOP TXTING U R DRIVING” initiative.
ASK is thrilled to honor News 12 Anchor, Tara Rosenblum, for her award-winning ‘Hooked on Heroin’ coverage. With the use of heroin rising over the past few years in the Hudson Valley, Tara took an in-depth look at the heroin epidemic and the lives of those who have been impacted. Over her career, Tara has earned more than 100 major industry awards, including 16 Emmy awards and 66 Emmy nominations, five of them for New York’s top ‘General Assignment’ reporter.
