Yorktown Patch–
Four organizations partner to form “Yorktown Community Partners” in an attempt to help each other promote events and support each others’ programs in an attempt to raise awareness within the community.
The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce has entered a new partnership with Alliance for Safe Kids (ASK), Support Connection and the D.A.R.E. program, Chamber of Commerce president Joseph Visconti said.
The four organizations will help each other promote events and support each others’ programs in an attempt to raise awareness within the community.
“Each organization has a venue to help the community and supporting each other makes perfect sense,” Visconti said. “The four organizations will be able to plan events, work together and support one another for a common goal, the betterment of Yorktown, its businesses and its residents.”
Katherine Quinn, executive director of Support Connection, said they are happy to support to Chamber’s activities as well as their fellow members.
Yorktown Police Youth Officer Richard Finn is already active in all the organizations and said the alliance would be beneficial to the organizations.
“The Yorktown Community Partners embodies the essence of how organizations can work together to enrich our community,” said Lisa Tomeny, executive director of Alliance for Safe Kids. “ASK looks forward to collaborating with our partners to support all of Yorktown.”
The four organizations will support each other by planning events that do not conflict with each another, Visconti said. Each organization will have a presence at all the events promoted by the others and the four logos will appear as “Yorktown Community Partners.” The Chamber of Commerce plans on establishing a website in 2012 with a calendar of events, so everyone can participate in all the various events throughout the year.
