The 25th annual Yorktown Community Day is coming on Saturday, June 7.
The Alliance for Safe Kids, Yorktown Organizations United and the Town of Yorktown will host the 25th annual Yorktown Community Day from noon to 4 p.m. at Jack DeVito Veterans Memorial Field. The event will feature the annual Taste of Yorktown and ASK 4 Talent.
“One and all are welcome to join the celebration and experience all that Yorktown has to offer,” representatives said in a press release. “The day will showcase numerous community organizations, local merchants, inflatables, activities for kids, music and entertainment for all ages. Participants represent a wide range of Yorktown groups from our emergency services (police, fire and ambulance) to civic organizations (Lions, Leos, Elks, Rotary) to local community groups (Scouts, School Clubs, Faith Based Organizations, Sports Clubs, Relay for Life Teams) and many more.”
The Taste of Yorktown will highlight the culinary creations of local restaurants and amateur chefs that will compete in the cook-off for Best Wings in Yorktown and/or a bake off for Best Homemade Cookie in Yorktown, according to the release.
“This day represents 25 years of gathering as a community and sharing our unique roles in making Yorktown special,” said Liz Talbert, Coalition Coordinator for ASK. “This community spirit is the foundation for the safety net that we collectively build and strengthen to support our youth and families throughout the year.”
