We ALL have mental health, just like physical health.
Important at every stage of life, mental health affects the way a person thinks, feels, relates to others, and behaves. By inspiring open conversations about mental health, The Youth Mental Health Project creates opportunities for communities to promote education, awareness and understanding of how to care for and support the whole child.
The Alliance for Safe Kids is thrilled to collaborate with The Youth Youth Mental Health Project and bring their valuable resources to our community:
- Randi Silverman, Founder and Executive Director of The Youth Mental Health Project, will be presenting a workshop, “Understanding & Supporting Youth Mental Health” at this year’s Save A Life forum on March 3, 2019.
- The Parent Support Network™: Yorktown will empower and equip parents to better understand their children’s mental health needs, recognize warning signs when their children are struggling, and better understand and find resources. The group will be forming in the Spring of 2019. Stay tuned.
- “No Letting Go” screening and community conversation with Randi Silverman, Founder and Executive Director of The Youth Mental Health Project, on April 29, 2019. This event is generously sponsored by The Rotary Club of Yorktown and the Town of Yorktown. Register now.
In addition to these wonderful programs, they also have extremely valuable information on their website. Take a moment to view their free downloadable materials.
